Golisano Children’s Hospital

Golisano Children’s Hospital is an eight-story addition to the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Strong Memorial Hospital. The Lighting Practice designed a lighting system that incorporated functional and low-profile fixtures to provide illumination without adding visual clutter.
The overarching design theme – a reflection of the geography of Upstate New York – was developed to enhance the patient and visitor experience and aid in wayfinding. TLP’s selection of decorative fixtures with varying finish, shape and detail reinforced theming. The inclusion of integrated LED sources were used to backlight graphic panel applications and accent architectural cove details.
