3675 Market Street Takes Home 2019 ULI Philadelphia Award for Excellence

The Lighting Practice is proud to announce that 3675 Market Street is among five winners of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Philadelphia’s 2019 Awards for Excellence. The jury specifically recognized the project for “excellence in technology transfer, mix of uses and real estate innovation.”

The 14-story building at 3675 Market Street is part of uCity Square, a community of buildings meant for the entrepreneurs and innovators in the University City section of Philadelphia. Developed by Wexford Science + Technology, its tenants include retailers, residences, clinics, offices, and laboratory spaces. The Lighting Practice was tasked with designing the lighting system for the building’s main entrance, lobbies, and the façade.

“We are honored to have been part of such a wonderful project which is helping to transform West Philadelphia,” said TLP Associate Principal Emad Hasan, Associate IALD, LEED AP BD+C, who designed the lighting system for 3675 Market with Principal Alfred Borden, FIALD, CLD, MIES. “Wexford and ZGF were both very supportive and embraced our use of exterior lighting as a way to enliven the building. We look forward to continuing our work on future projects within the uCity Square development.” Emad is a member of ULI Philadelphia.

ULI aims to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Complementing the ULI Global Awards for Excellence, the Philadelphia Rouse Award recognizes projects in the Greater Philadelphia area. Winners represent excellence in achieving scale, impacting the community, elevating city real estate standards, and representing models of innovation and leadership in the area. This year’s winners were among 13 finalists and selected by a national jury of 12 experts.

The Lighting Practice is delighted by this exceptional honor. Congratulations to the rest of the 2019 award winners!
