The Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) program is a globally‐recognized, evidence‐based lighting design certification that tests professional competence over seven domains of practice. But how does the certification actually benefit lighting designers and their clients? What does the process entail? On May 21, Alfred Borden, FIALD, MIES, CLD, Rosemarie Allaire, IALD, MIES, CLD of Rosemarie Allaire Lighting Design Claudio Ramos, CLD, IALD (ELECTROLIGHT), and Dawn Hollingsworth, CLD, FIALD, WELL AP (Darkhorse Lightworks) will answer these and other questions at LIGHTFAIR International 2019.

During a presentation titled, “Certified Lighting Designer: Insights into the Application,” Al and Rosemarie will describe the ins and outs of CLD certification. As Certified Lighting Designers themselves, the two will share insight into the process and discuss the importance of the CLD program to the future of architectural lighting design.
