IES Penn State Student Members Visit The Lighting Practice Office

PSU Students visit Artemide

Friday, January 18th, TLP was pleased to host the Pennsylvania State University Chapter of the IES for a presentation and tour of The Lighting Practice office.

Since many of us are PSU alumni (Helen, Mike, Jered, Emad and myself) we always love seeing the emerging talent coming out of our alma mater.  There were two large groups of about 20 students each, with each group Emad and I gave a presentation about the type of work we do in our office as well as our design process from concept development through construction and the finished product.  Some of the projects we discussed were the Empire State Building, Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, Johns Hopkins University, Urban Outfitters, Valley Forge Casino Resort, Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women, and of course the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The students also had the opportunity to visit with some other design firms in the area.  After the presentations and tours the students, along with other design professionals, headed to the Artemide showroom for a meet and greet.

It was a pleasure to host Penn State’s IES Student Chapter here at The Lighting Practice.  We are happy to host a visit anytime they travel to Philadelphia for their yearly event.

WE ARE! PENN STATE!
