Target Portland Powell

Portland

Target transformed a former bowling alley into a small format store in Portland. Tasked with designing the interior lighting, The Lighting Practice worked with the design team to embrace the building’s original purpose through various design elements. At the check lanes, feature ceiling elements use reclaimed wood from bowling alley lanes with integrated LED accent lights to emulate the markers and capture attention. Over the main sales floor, ACT ceilings were demolished to reveal a vaulted wood plenum. Direct/indirect linear pendants cast soft illumination into the open structure while providing shoppers with critical task lighting. Track and perimeter linear wallwashers provide accent for signage wayfinding and art.
