Chris Machuzak joined The Lighting Practice in 2022 as a Lighting Designer I, where he works with TLP’s Special Team for Target. Chris graduated from Jefferson University and worked at some of Philadelphia’s most notable lighting design firms in the past four years, helping them bring their projects to life. Chris has experience designing and producing lighting layouts, Setting up submittals, running light calculations, electrical take offs, lighting controls, basic lighting fixture circuiting, BIM 360, lighting fixture specification, life safety plans, emergency lightning layouts and more. When he’s not designing, he enjoys tennis, weightlifting and locksmithing.

What’s your favorite aspect of light?
The atmosphere that it creates for people to be attracted to a built space.
