The Lighting Practice Has an Award-winning Marketing Team!

The Lighting Practice is delighted to announce that the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Philadelphia honored the firm with two Philly’s Phinest 2020 Marketing Communications Awards! TLP’s 30th anniversary marketing campaign, spearheaded by Principal Jered Widmer, IALD, MIES, Darcy Veneziale, CPSM, and Karina Vargas-Aquino, took home First Place in the category of Promotional Campaign (Digital) and Best in Show at the Philly’s Phinest Awards Reception on January 30, 2020.

The winning campaign showcased TLP’s growth over the past three decades as the firm marked its 30-year anniversary in October 2019. TLP launched the month-long digital campaign, targeting current and past clients, design partners, team members, and the lighting community, to increase visibility and engagement. TLP’s marketing team branded each post with the company colors, a modified anniversary logo, and a unique hashtag. The campaign relayed the history, culture, experience, and expertise of The Lighting Practice with infographics, before-and-after project photos, award recognitions, project highlights, and team photos. This fun campaign was a success, exceeding the team’s goals to increase visibility and engagement by 20% on company social media platforms and surpassing goals to increase traffic to the website by 20%.

“As long-time supporters of SMPS Philadelphia, we are thrilled to receive top honors for our marketing efforts by a jury of our peers and mentors,” Darcy said. “Our marketing team couldn’t have done it without collaboration from our leadership and lighting design team!” Karina added.

SMPS Philadelphia’s Marketing Communications Award program celebrates the innovative work of marketing professionals working in local A/E/C firms. It is an opportunity to showcase both best practices in marketing and the critical role of marketing in a firm’s success. The program is modeled after the national SMPS organization’s prestigious Marketing Communication Awards program.
