The Lighting Practice Welcomes Five New Team Members

TLP New Hires 2018

As The Lighting Practice has grown and adapted over the years to meet clients’ needs, the firm has been fortunate to welcome more talented and motivated individuals to its staff. Recently, five new team members have joined TLP’s Philadelphia office. Taleen Streeter, Evan Wilson, Angela Banner, and William Eatough are the firm’s newest lighting designers, and Karina Vargas-Aquino has joined the marketing team.

Taleen Streeter – Lighting Designer
Taleen began her career in lighting design in Dubai while working on prestigious architectural projects throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It was there that she became inspired by how light can enhance a space, create drama, and shape architectural elements in various ways. Since joining TLP, Taleen has worked on projects spanning corporate, academic, façade, retail, commercial, hospitality, liturgical, and residential sectors.

Evan Wilson – Lighting Designer
Evan started his career working for small theater and dance companies around Philadelphia. He transitioned to architecture while working for a Philadelphia lighting firm. While earning his master’s degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Evan gained experience on the research side of the industry in topics that include human factors such as circadian stimulus, optics design and modeling, and more. As a designer with TLP, Evan’s project experience has expanded to include corporate, healthcare, hospitality, multi-family residential, places of worship, retail, and transportation.

Angela Banner – Lighting Designer
Angela’s introduction to lighting public spaces happened while installing temporary lighting for monuments at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. Angela was inspired to pursue lighting design as a career while attending Philadelphia University, now Jefferson East Falls. Through industrial design she learned how lighting can walk the line between art, design, and cutting-edge technology. Since joining TLP, Angela’s project experience includes a variety of retail environments and outdoor public spaces.

William Eatough – Lighting Designer
William decided to pursue lighting as a career while studying architecture at Parsons The New School for Design. It was there that Will realized his fascination with the interactions between architecture, light, and the people who inhabit the space. Prior to joining TLP, Will was featured in Interior Design magazine as the part of the lighting design team for a winning entry to Design Industries Foundation Fights Aids.  He is proficient in a variety of rendering, modeling, and daylight analysis programs including Rhinoceros 3D, V-Ray, and DiVA for Rhino. As a designer with TLP, Will’s project experience has expanded to include corporate, academic, retail, and more.

Karina Vargas-Aquino – Marketing Assistant
Karina joined TLP as a Marketing Assistant after graduating from Temple University. She previously worked for several start-up companies, which shaped her approach to marketing. Karina manages TLP’s online presence, supporting marketing initiatives through content creation, brand management, and website improvements. She works closely with the principals and associates, coordinating TLP’s responses to qualification and proposal submittals. Karina is inspired by the creativity within TLP and strives to expand her knowledge of the lighting industry every day.

The Lighting Practice is proud to welcome these new team members to help carry that legacy of extraordinary work.
