Jered Widmer to Discuss the Internet of Things (IoT) at LEDucation 2019 in New York

In our tech-forward world, industries of all kinds are increasingly utilizing smart lighting and the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide individuals with an innovative connection to their environment. At this year’s LEDucation conference, The Lighting Practice’s Jered Widmer, IALD, MIES, will participate in a discussion focused on the abilities of IoT connected lighting systems.

“IoT Connected Lighting: A Design Guide” will review opportunities for connected light and how it allows people to better engage with their environment. Along with Paula Ziegenbein, Assoc. IALD, LC of Hartranft Lighting Design and Ardra Zinkon, CLD, IALD of Tec Studio, Jered will guide participants through a basic understanding of the necessary lighting system components, features, and protocols.

Organized by the Designers Lighting Forum of New York, LEDucation is the largest LED-only tradeshow and educational forum in the U.S. The non-profit event gives thousands of industry professionals an opportunity to experience new technologies through hundreds of exhibits. It also offers accredited seminars covering subjects related to LED Lighting. Proceeds from the conference help support a variety of grants, scholarships and programs that stimulate future LED advancements.
