Interstate 95 Revive

Stretching north from downtown Philadelphia, eight lanes of Interstate 95 bisect city neighborhoods and the Delaware River waterfront. The raised roadway creates a concrete barrier with dark underpasses that divide communities and inhibits commerce and growth. Recognizing this issue and understanding the importance of a long-term, high-quality solution, PennDOT reached out to The Lighting Practice. TLP has played an integral leadership role in developing a gateway solution. This included facilitating interactive discussions with community groups and government officials to hear their concerns, develop and present concepts for discussion and debate and create final contract documentation and specifications. By listening and responding to the needs of the community, TLP’s lighting solutions brighten roadways, illuminate underpasses and create safe, attractive connections under I-95.
