This fit-out of approximately 60,000 SF in an existing warehouse building has created a highly flexible office and collaborative work environment that supports Merck’s multi-generational team and numerous work strategies. Widely spaced lines of direct/indirect pendant lights take advantage of the building’s open structure to provide ambient lighting and a soft uplight glow. Fabric shade structures were designed to amplify the impact of the small existing skylights to bring daylight into this windowless space. Pendant light fixtures in the shades provide task light and extend the sense of daylight after dusk.
