Located on the outskirts of Washington DC, Westfield Montgomery Mall is an existing 2-level retail destination that boasts a variety of upscale clothiers and boutique shops. The owner wanted a refreshed lighting design to enhance the new elegant and modern architectural design while providing improved maintenance and energy efficiency.
The Lighting Practice’s solution included an upgrade of existing fluorescent coves to LED and replacement of high-wattage HID downlights with new lower wattage ceramic metal halide sources. Adjustability of the new downlights provided focus and attention on soft seating at the lower level. To add a layer of sophistication, decorative light fixtures were utilized strategically to create statement pieces along the winding concourses.
