The Lighting Practice (TLP) is thrilled to announce the promotion of Xingying Peng to Senior Lighting Designer!
Xingying Peng, Design IALD – Senior Lighting Designer

Xingying has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to design excellence, client service, and team collaboration. Her initiative and leadership have made a significant impact, especially in the growth and development of TLP’s New York office, where she has played a key role in cultivating client relationships and expanding the firm’s presence.
“Xingying has grown into an indispensable part of our team, taking on complex projects with confidence and clarity,” says Thomas Bergeron, Associate Principal and Director of TLP’s New York office. “This role gives Xingying the space to lead from the inside out, strengthening our team, while also helping us connect with what’s next. Her thoughtful approach to lighting design, paired with a natural curiosity, positions her to shape the direction of our future work in meaningful ways”.
Xingying began her journey as an intern in TLP’s Philadelphia office while completing her Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design at Parsons School of Design. She returned in 2019 as a full-time lighting designer in the firm’s New York office. Xingying previously worked as a theatrical lighting designer, taking part in the production of several theater festivals in Asia, including the Beijing Fringe Festival, Singapore M1 Festival, and others. Since joining TLP, her project experience has grown to include corporate, healthcare, and academic environments, as well as exterior façades.
As a Senior Lighting Designer, Xingying will uphold The Lighting Practice’s design and customer service standards while furthering the firm’s mission to take ordinary spaces and make them extraordinary. Xingying’s talents have enhanced The Lighting Practice’s team and the lighting design community at large.
