Al Borden Delivers Keynote at IALD Rocky Mountain Event

“Practice really hearing what people say. Do your best to get inside their minds.” – Marcus Aurelius

There is more misunderstanding in every conversation than understanding. This issue can present a problem as design team members collaborate on projects and interact with their clients. As the keynote speaker at the International Association of Lighting Designers’ (IALD) Rocky Mountain Breckenridge event, Alfred Borden FIALD, CLD, MIES, Founding Principal of The Lighting Practice, addressed the nature and importance of “active listening” for design professionals and strategies for improving the effectiveness of collaboration.

Al was asked to deliver the keynote during IALD Rocky Mountain’s event due in part to his recent recognition. The LIT Design Awards awarded Al with the 2019 LIT Lifetime Achievement Award.
