Earlier this month, biopharmaceutical company Incyte Corp. cut the ribbon on its new 150,000 square-foot corporate headquarters building in Wilmington, DE.

The Lighting Practice was tasked with designing the lighting system for the building. Michael BarberErin McCauley, and Lily Knoerzer teamed with Mitchell Associates for the tenant fit-out and Granum A/I for the building’s core and shell. Embracing the building owner’s progressive vision, TLP employed small aperture sources and integrative coves to create luminous and engaging public spaces. The innovative green roof, on which TLP collaborated with Andropogon Associates and consultant Roofmeadow, encourages collaboration outside the office walls. Preserving the nighttime view from the rooftop oasis, TLP utilized low-level bollards and integrated handrail lighting to minimize visual disturbance.

Philadelphia Business Journal recently shared a slideshow of Incyte’s new building. The photos feature Incyte’s new office spaces in addition to the rooftop pickleball courts and putting green, the lobby’s “living wall,” the 355-space parking garage with electric car charging stations, and more.

At the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Incyte CEO Herve Hoppenot, Delaware Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester called the campus the “Silicon Valley of the East Coast.”
