As part of the Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal One Redevelopment Program, The Lighting Practice designed new terminal lighting for Terminal A’s departures area. The client wanted visually engaging lighting to elevate the transitional space efficiently, and to create a memorable exterior design both during the day and night. The Lighting Practice used a fully programmable LED ceiling spanning the entire pickup area, providing focused lighting for the high-traffic safety areas. The functional lighting is complemented by ambient ceiling lighting to produce a visually enhanced, calming ambiance for travelers. The dynamic and controllable lighting highlights key areas and offers positive distraction.
