The lighting design for the Old Parkland East Campus reinforces its classical architecture while supporting the functional demands of a contemporary office and event environment. Spanning multiple office buildings, an orangery, a theater in the round, and underground parking, the lighting is integrated seamlessly into the architecture to enhance materials, textures, and ornamental details without drawing attention to the light sources themselves.
Accent and general illumination are discreetly embedded within architectural elements, preserving the integrity of the classical design. Lobby spaces feature adjustable accent lighting to highlight decorative friezes and sculptural elements, while faux alabaster ceilings are softly backlit to provide a warm, balanced glow. Throughout the campus, lighting remains visually unobtrusive, allowing the architecture to take center stage.
A sophisticated lighting control strategy supports occupant comfort and energy efficiency, with programmed scenes that respond to daylight, occupancy, and time of day. Innovative detailing and close coordination across disciplines enabled the illumination of intricate architectural features without visible sources, resulting in a refined, comfortable lighting environment that elevates both the campus experience and its surrounding context.
