The Calhoun School wanted to upgrade and modernize their school, providing better illumination for the students and faculty, without feeling institutional. With different programming areas, such as lounges, labs, classrooms and meeting rooms, The Lighting Practice utilized a variety of lighting strategies to provide active and restorative moments. Ring pendants in the perimeter classrooms complement the curved facades of the school and create a unique, contemporary learning space. Task lighting implemented into laboratories provides functional light for hands-on work.
