Drew Miner LC

Senior Lighting Designer

Drew Miner joined The Lighting Practice’s Dallas team in 2022, as a Senior Lighting Designer. Drew earned his Bachelor’s in Architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington. After working for several architectural firms, Drew found more interest in retailers, as he found store design lighting more engaging. He also enjoyed assisting in lowering energy usage, and the idea of leaving a little more energy behind for future generations. When he’s not designing, Drew enjoys having friends over for meals, getting active in his community, and gardening and home improvement projects.

What’s your favorite aspect of light?
That it’s a wave and a particle.

What motivates and inspires you?
Being part of a team, taking on our client’s dreams, and exceeding their expectations, of how lighting can improve their projects.

What is your favorite computer program? Why?’
I do enjoy ACAD, I’ve been using it since it’s start, so reminds me of tricks I learned from folks along the way!

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?
I’d like to be the US President for a day, not really any sweeping changes, just like cut a ribbon, wander the white house. Give a speech on the importance of being nice.
