TLP Philadelphia Welcomes Dionna, Lily & Kevin

The key to The Lighting Practice’s legacy of excellence is its talented team of lighting designers whose expertise spans multiple disciplines. These professionals bring together their ideas, knowledge, and talents to transform ordinary spaces into captivating and memorable places. TLP’s Philadelphia office is excited to welcome three new team members, Dionna Scott, Lily Meaker and Kevin Smolkis.

Dionna Scott – Proposal Coordinator
Dionna joined The Lighting Practice in 2022 as Proposal Coordinator. Before joining TLP, Dionna worked as a freelance graphic designer and as a registration clerk with the City of Philadelphia. With her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising and subsequent professional experience, Dionna brings forth years of experience with communications, administrative organization and database management. Dionna is motivated by the constant evolution and development of marketing strategy. In her new role, Dionna works closely with firm leaders, as well as the marketing and accounting team, assembling proposal responses and managing TLP’s pipeline database.

Lily Meaker – Designer
Lily joined The Lighting Practice in 2022 as a Designer, where she coordinates with allied team members, assisting with documentation of design and performing construction administration tasks.  Lily graduated from Syracuse University with a focus in Theater Design and Technology. She acted as the lighting designer for three shows at SU Drama, and before that was the assistant lighting designer with SU Drama. Lily’s interest in lighting design piqued during her high school years volunteering in theater, where she noticed the vivaciousness that lighting design brought to the production. When she’s not adding to the magic of lighting design, Lily enjoys ceramics, playing soccer, and hunting for the best cup of coffee.

Kevin Smolkis – Designer
Kevin joined The Lighting Practice in 2022 as a Designer, where he coordinates with allied team members, assisting with documentation of design and performing construction administration tasks. Kevin is inspired by the subconscious ways light plays a part in our lives and decided to pursue lighting design as a career after taking a 3D sculpture class in high school. He graduated from Jefferson University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design, with concentrations in Lighting and Visualization. He has previous experience with fixture design, and lighting for health and hospitality. Outside of lighting design, Kevin’s biggest interests are drawing, hiking, and both digital and film photography.

TLP is delighted to welcome, Dionna Lily and Kevin to the team.
