Michael Barber, Principal of The Lighting Practice, will be moderating a panel focused on Human-Centered Design organized by SMPS Philadelphia. The panelists include Natalie Malawey-Ednie, Director of Project Management & Professional Development with Watchdog, Kai Olsen, Principal, with HOK, and Gabriela Marcu, PhD, Assistant professor at Drexel University.

Human-Centered Design (HCD) can be applied to all market sectors and utilized by all fields. As advances in technology change the way we work and multiple generations work side by side in the same environments a Human-Centered Design approach is vital. Mike will lead the discussion diving into the principles, considerations, and barriers to HCD. He will also encourage the panelists to explore how HCD is influencing development, client decisions, productivity, and changing workforce dynamics.
