The Lighting Practice (TLP) is thrilled to announce the promotion of Ryan Conover to Associate Principal. He has shown his commitment and dedication to TLP’s team, design excellence, and clients.
Ryan Conover, EDAC, Design IALD – Associate Principal | Director of Light + Health

Ryan joined The Lighting Practice in 2011, and is a multi-faceted, award-winning designer with fifteen years of experience in the A/E/C industry. He is TLP’s leader of Light + Health, spearheading the firm’s healthcare design initiatives and standards. Ryan’s passion for lighting and human well-being merged when he achieved his Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) and has taken on the role of evidence-based design coordinator. He is committed to educating his peers, clients, and himself on the impact of electric light on human physiology and well-being.
He develops architectural lighting design solutions for the built environment that meet energy and safety codes, balance aesthetics, and support human health. Ryan has designed lighting systems for a variety of project environments including healthcare, academic, corporate, historic, retail, and infrastructure.
He was named one of Healthcare Design’s 2022 Rising Stars, celebrating his outstanding achievements in healthcare design. Additionally, he was recognized in the 2022 Class of 40under40, an international program that identifies the most talented and promising individuals working in the lighting design industry.
