Center for Healthcare Technology

Philadelphia, PA

The Center for Healthcare Technology encourages collaboration between the UPenn Health System’s HR, IT, and marketing employees. The prominent communicating stair between office levels and flexible working and dining spaces on each floor creates an open environment for all departments. A modern lobby offers dining spaces, a gallery, convertible stadium seating for events, and adjacent exterior plazas. The center includes a walk-in occupational health clinic and 20,000 SF childcare facility. The Lighting Practice utilized 100% high-efficiency LED lighting sources for interior and exterior areas. Direct/indirect lighting on the office floors provides flexibility and a subtle glow from outside. An architectural dimming system and linear pendants with shielded downlights offer an inviting appearance. Uplit ceilings and decorative pendants enhance the vertical feature in the communicating stair. The project is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
