Introducing The Lighting Lens, a new series sharing first-hand perspectives from TLP’s lighting designers. They’ll discuss recent projects, the design process, and the evolving role of lighting in architecture.
Brian Wiley, Director of TLP Chicago and Associate, discusses a project he is most proud of, Southampton Playhouse, featuring color immersion rooms where lighting and furniture finishes are unified, drawing inspiration from Olafur Eliasson’s immersive monochromatic approach in Room for One Colour (1997). All cinemas are equipped with RGBW color-changing lights and theatrical-grade lighting controls, allowing for seamless integration with audio and projection systems to synchronize lights, sound, and visuals.
